It is not really plausible to average the costs associated with plastic surgery due to the many different variables. Not only are the plastic surgeon's fees unpredictable depending on their experience in the field, but the anesthesiologist's fee too are unpredictable.
When talking about the costs and fees in regards to a plastic surgery procedure, one can easily break them down into four distinct categories. These four categories include the surgeon's fee, the location the procedure will be performed, anesthesia as well as the equipment that is used during the procedure.
In general, the surgeon's fee will vary based on the individual surgeon's experience in the field. Like many other fields, you get what you pay for, and if you decide to cut corners and save money on the surgeon's fee then you are making yourself more susceptible to a botched procedure.
When discussing the location that the procedure will be performed, there is some money that can be saved here. While some surgeons work in an actual hospital which can become expensive, others have their own clean operating area set-up as an out patient facility and therefore can be much cheaper than the use of the OR.
As far as the instruments go, the more simple a procedure is, the less it will cost. If you go with a procedure that does not require and endoscopic scope then you are going to save the costs of the scope itself while at the same time increasing the risks of scars.
The anesthesia is also a sort of negotiable commodity as one can choose the easiest surgery to perform and therefore lowering the costs of the overall surgery. If it is possible to have the procedure done with a local anesthetic then the cost will also be less since this can be done by the surgeon and no anesthesiologist would be needed.
You need to be well informed on the concept of the procedure so that you can rest assured that you make a good decision when choosing to negotiate the overall rate. Having the knowledge can help you in the long run whether you choose to negotiate the rates or even if you are asked for an important decision, choosing the right answer will always be easier if you are well informed.
